Accessing Interpreting Services

Please view the step-by-step instructions below for accessing Over-the-Phone Interpreting (OPI) or Video-Remote Interpreting (VRI) or to schedule an On-Site Interpreter (OSI).

Interpreting Instructions

Over-the-Phone Interpreting (OPI)

To Access Over-the-Phone Interpreting:

*Required fields may vary but typically include:

  1. If you have a 3-digit access code, please call: 877-807-9514.
  2. If you have a 4-digit access code, please call: 855-898-0394.
    • When prompted, give your access code.
    • A live coordinator will request intake information from you.
      • IMPORTANT – if you need the coordinator to make a call for you, please tell them at this step by saying “I will need for you to make a 3rd party connect”.
    • Request the language needed, or ask for assistance in identifying the language.
    • Hold momentarily while your interpreter is connected.
    • The coordinator will inform you that the interpreter is now “on the line”, and give the interpreter’s ID number.
      • Explain the objective of the call to the interpreter. Then proceed by speaking directly to the non-English speaking in the first person.
      • Example – “What is your Name?” NOT “Ask her what her name is.”
  3.  Upon completion of the call, all parties should simply hang up.
Video Remote Interpreting (VRI)

To access Vocalink Global’s Vialink VRI Service and make a VRI call:

From Your Computer:

  1. Go to vialink.vocalinkglobal.com and log in using the credentials you created when you registered (if you are an administrator on the account), or given to you by your admin.
  2. Make the VRI call:
    • Hover your mouse over the “muted microphone” icon in the upper right corner. Click “Open Caller”.
    • Select the “From” and “To” languages required and the service type needed. Click the 3 dots on the right next tot he Service Type to select Male, Female, or No Preference.
    • Make sure the VRI button (video camera) is highlighted in green.
    • Press “CALL”.
  3. Upon completion of the call, press the red “End Call” button.

On a Tablet or Smart Phone:

  1. Visit the App Store or Google Play, search for “InterpretManager”. Download and install the app.
  2. Open the app and log in using the credentials you created when you registered (if you are an administrator on the account), or given to you by your admin.
  3. Make the VRI call:
    • Hover your mouse over the “muted microphone” icon in the upper right corner. Click “Open Caller”.
    • Select the “From” and “To” languages required and the service type needed. Click the 3 dots on the right next to the Service Type to select Male, Female, or No Preference.
    • Make sure the VRI button (video camera) is highlighted in green.
    • Press “CALL”.
  4. Upon completion of the call, press the red “End Call” button.
On-Site Interpreting (OSI)

To Schedule Online:

  1. Visit Tracker.VocalinkGlobal.com to log in with your assigned Username and Password.
    • If you are not already set up with online access, please call (877) 492-7754 and select option 2 to speak with our Sales and Client Success team.
    • Complete the following required fields (required fields may vary but typically include the following):
      • Date interpreter is needed (Assignment Date)
      • Start time of appointment
      • Estimated length of appointment
      • Language(s) needed and source language if not English
      • Brief description of what the appointment will entail
      • On-site point of contact
  2.  Watch for a status update from Tracker indicating when an interpreter has been assigned.
