I was born in Cuba and moved to Louisville, Kentucky when I was eight years old. I am very involved in the Hispanic community in Louisville and love to volunteer as a language tutor for those new to our community. Away from work, I love to travel, spend time with my family, and listen to country music.
After moving to the United States with my family at eight years old, I worked hard to learn English and keep my native Spanish skills. After finishing school, I knew I wanted to put my language skills to work for me. I started my linguist career in call centers and in customer service roles assisting Spanish-speaking customers. I began interpreting shortly thereafter, alternating between interpreting and providing Spanish tutoring. I joined Vocalink in 2014 first as a part-time interpreter. I loved my work so much that I became a full-time interpreter and later joined our administrative staff as a Recruiter to help talented bilingual individuals begin or continue rewarding careers in interpreting.
I bring value to Vocalink Global’s clients by listening to them. Through listening, I gain a deep understanding of their questions, pain points, and needs, and then I can help them find the right solutions.
Vocalink Global has been a life-changing job for me. I never thought I would be one of those people that wakes up and goes to work with a smile. Not only do I love my job as a Recruiter, but I also love interpreting. Having the opportunity to do both has helped me strengthen my language skills and grow as a professional. What I really love about Vocalink Global is its focus on nurturing each employee, helping us to develop our skills and apply them to contribute to both Vocalink Global’s success and personal success.
