I was born and raised in Romania, Eastern Europe. Romanian is my first language, but I am also fluent in both English and French. I am passionate about cultural diversity, human rights, and language access. I love to travel, meet people from different cultures, and one of my goals in life is to be able to travel the world with my daughter.
Language has been a passion of mine for a long time. I received my BA in Languages and Translations (English and French) from Lucian Blaga University in Romania, my first home. I came to the U.S. in 2005 for an internship and stayed to complete my MS in Human Resource Education from the University of Louisville. For the next ten years, I worked in management, human resources, customer service (B2B and B2C), account management, training and development, and recruiting. I also started my own business. My entrepreneurial spirit led me to Vocalink Global in September of 2014, first as a recruiter, then as Branch Manager for our Kentucky office, followed by Video Remote Interpreting and Compliance Manager. After relocating to Chicago, in January of 2019, I took on the role of Interpreting Operations Manager, working closely with a team of 250 plus interpreters, recruiters, branch managers, and scheduling coordinators.
I bring value to Vocalink Global clients by applying my passion for language access to my work every day. I get to know our clients and they know I’m always there for them to help find interpreting resources, get training or just a quick refresher on using Vocalink Global’s technology, or connect them with my teammates for translation, compliance, accounting or other assistance. I also bring behind-the-scenes value to our clients by ensuring that every Vocalink Global on-site interpreter meets language proficiency, background, training, and other legal and client-set requirements, both at hire and on an ongoing basis.
Vocalink Global is a dream company for me because it combines all of my passions. As a certified minority- and woman-owned company in the business of connecting people and brands across language and culture, we help protect human rights every day. We do this by giving Limited English Proficient, deaf, and hard-of-hearing individuals a voice in the courtroom, the classroom, the doctor’s office, and beyond.
